Norbert is now post-doctoral researcher at the BITlab Michigan State University.

Norbert researches in Human-Centered Security, particulary in connected homes. His research to date has explored issues of home data security decision-making, security practices, and the design of secure systems for the home and other non-corporate environments. His interests are in fostering novel ways of closing the digital divide between expert and non-expert security practices and their contexts.
Norbert is a Research Assistant and final year DPhil student in the Department of Computer Science. His doctoral studies are funded by the Rhodes Scholarship and the Oxford-Linacre African Graduate Scholarship. He is also part of Innovate UK's 2019 Cyber Security Academic Startups Accelerator Programme (CyberASAP). Norbert holds a BSc in Information Technology from the University of Malawi. Prior to starting his DPhil, he worked in Network Engineering and Management Consulting.
